I. WE HAVE A BETTER PERSON FOR OUR SAVIOUR..
The Lord Jesus is greater than Moses
A. In His Birth
B. In His Being
C. In His Blessings
II. WE HAVE A BETTER PAYMENT FOR OUR SINS...
Moses gave them the annual sacrifice which gave them:
A. Annual remembrance of their sins... Heb. 10:3
B. Annual ritual for their sins... Heb. 10:1
C. Awful reality of their sins... Heb. 10:1-4
Christ gave us one sacrifice for sin, forever and then sat
down...Heb. 10:10-14. Now we have:
A. Eternal redemption... Heb. 9:12
B. Eternal remission... Heb. 10:17
C. Eternal reconciliation... Heb 9:24; I Jn. 2:1-2
III. WE HAVE A BETTER PRECEPT FOR OUR SCRIPTURES
They lived under the law, we live under grace
A. The demand of the law...Gal. 3:10, "do, do, do"
B. The doom of the law...Gal. 3:11, "no justification"
C. Our deliverance from the law, Gal. 3:13; Rom. 8:1-4
IV. WE HAVE A BETTER PRIEST FOR OUR SERVICE
Aaron was a great priest, but not as great as CHRIST.
A. Christ can always be touched...Heb. 4:14-16
B. Christ can always be trusted...Heb. 2:17-18
C. Christ can never be terminated...Heb. 7:23-25
V. WE HAVE A BETTER PLACE FOR OUR SETTLING
Israel settled in a temporary place flowing with milk and honey.
We will settle in a permanent place with gates of pearl and the
streets of gold.
A. We will have a better Exodus... I Thess. 4:16-17
B. We will have a better Entrance
C. We will have a better Experience
We won't have to fight for heaven...
