IT TAKES SOMETHING TO LIVE FOR GOD...

I Timothy 4:12-16

For many people they think that all there is to the Christian life is to be

saved and to take life as it comes and somehow everything will be alright.

This is not true, it takes something to live the Christian life.

 

I. IT TAKES TRANSFORMATION.. (must be saved)

We are sinners:

1. By birth

2. By behavior

II. IT TAKES TRYING...V 12, Be thou an example

A. Because of our composition...We are a saved being with

an unsaved body.

B. Because of our opposition...! Peter 5:8

III. IT TAKES TIME...V13, Give attendance

A. Time for Studying...Reading, V13; Meditate, V 15

B. Time for Supplication...Matt. 6:6

C. Time for Services...Heb. 10:25

IV. IT TAKES TARRYING...Continue, V 16. This gives us...

A. Purity in our souls

B. Power in our service

C. Passion for other souls

V. IT TAKES TEARS...

A. Weep over our sins...II Cor. 7:10

B. Weep over our service...Psms. 126:5-6

C. Weep over souls... John 11:35

VI. IT TAKES TURNING...

A life without self discipline is like a ship without a captain.

A. Turn away from:

Sin, Self, & Satan

B. Turn to:

God's word, work, will and ways

VII. IT TAKES TRUSTING...Proverbs 3:5-7

A. Trust Him with our souls

B. Trust Him with our substance

C. Trust Him for our security
