HOW WILL IT BE WHEN YOU COME
TO THE END OF YOUR JOURNEY
II T
imothy 4:1-8None of us know how we will leave this world as far as the physical is
concerned, but we can determine how we are spiritually when it comes
time to go. Here are some things that no doubt went through Paul's mind
as he waited for his end.
I. HE LOOKED BACKWARD ON HIS COURSE...V 7
HE REMEMBERS:
A. His condition as a sinner...Acts 7, 8,9
B. His conversion to salvation...Acts.9:1-6
C. His commission to serve...Gal. 1:16
D. His conflict with Satan...II Tim. 4:7
II. HE LOOKED INWARD FOR THE CAUSE...II Timothy 1:12
No doubt he asked:
A. Was it worth it?
B. Is it still worth it?
C. Will it be worth it when I stand before God.
III. HE LOOKED FORWARD AT THE CROSSING.. II Timothy 4:6
Ready to be offered...
A. Where he stood...Paul looked at himself as an ox with a yoke
on one side and an altar on the other side and declared:
1. He would be Christ's Servant if he lived.
2. He would be Christ's Sacrifice if he died.
B. What he said...
1. Death would be a delight..."! am now ready."
2. Death would be a departure...the unloosing of a ship
headed for another port.
IV. HE LOOKED ONWARD TO THE CROWNING...II Tim. 4:8
Thank God there is something waiting the saved...
A. The presents...(five crowns can be won)
B. The presenter...The Lord, the Righteous Judge
C. The presentation...shall give me at that day
D. The possibility...not to me only, but to all them that love His
appearing.
